India: A Continent of Forests

India holds some of the world's most biodiverse forest ecosystems — from the Western Ghats to the Eastern Himalayas, from the Sundarbans to the Deccan Plateau. Our sourcing network is growing across this landscape.

Why India

India's forests are home to over 100 million Adivasi and forest-dependent people whose livelihoods, knowledge, and cultures are inseparable from the ecosystems they inhabit. The country's forest produce sector is vast, largely informal, and chronically undervalued. Niyati exists to change that — by building direct, documented, fairly-priced supply chains from forest communities to global markets.

Our Principles

Our Commitment to Indian Forest Communities

Above-Market Pricing

We pay documented above-market prices to all our Indian sourcing partners. Our payment records are available to wholesale buyers on request.

Forest Rights Compliance

We source only from communities with legal rights to their forest resources under the Forest Rights Act 2006 or equivalent state legislation.

No Middlemen

We work directly with communities and cooperatives, not through aggregators or brokers. Every rupee of margin stays closer to the source.

Knowledge Documentation

With community consent, we document traditional ecological knowledge as part of our origin records — preserving it and attributing it correctly.
